Pros

Shift patterns are reasonable Fairly open to flexible working

Cons

Training hit and miss Supervisory support hit and miss, inconsistency Ridiculous HR/attendance management policy Frustratingly disorganised - try finding information anywhere! Many teams work in silos Focus on stats, rather than getting a job done

Pros

Great colleagues, flexible working, good induction.

Cons

Left the post due to having a hard time with a manager but felt there was no one I could discuss this with due to the structure of the team. Younger staff treated like children.

Pros

I have been at Notts Police for over 9 years now, and have learned a lot in my profession since graduating. I feel that I add value in my job role, and have a good team and line manager. i also feel that I am able to contribute to the good of the organisation and the wider public.

Cons

I feel that the Training and Development side, particularly within my professional field, is very much lacking. All of the L&D appears to be either geared towards Police Officers, or towards 'ticking the boxes'. This is most probably down to the force's general lack of understanding of my particular profession; and undoubtedly follows through to other professions. Following on from this, as someone else has mentioned, there is a trend of installing Police Officers to line manage such roles. This leads to 'managing your managers' due to their lack of exposure within the particular profession / area of the business. It also takes up space that could be offered to promote relevantly qualified Police Staff.
