Pros

My direct manager was a great guy, very flexible and patient. Would always take the time to explain his expectations for me to get my work completed.

Cons

Everyone left Waterstone Mortgage and came to Panorama Mortgage. Novus bought out Panorama Mortgage, I stayed because I trusted them and believed in the company. I was laid off. I was then re-hired back after a few weeks. THEN Novus joined with Ixonia Bank, and more layoffs started and I was the first to go. If you didn't have "Waterstone" on your resume, you were laid off. They kept there little groups together, even if that meant laying off someone who worked hard and showed up and keeping someone who couldn't figure out how to turn her power strip on (more than once), would call in weekly, and was constantly doing whatever they wanted besides their job. If you don't fit in, you will never grow.

Pros

I have coworkers who are competent and friendly. They collaborate easily and understand the importance of staying on the same page. Another thing I appreciate is the level of autonomy I have here. There’s no micromanagement – I can set my own schedule, work at my pace, and stay productive. Tasks keep the work interesting and give plenty of opportunities to level up my knowledge of mortgage guidelines and regulations.

Cons

Not for everyone; the role requires excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
