Pros
Casual-ish Dresscode is about the only thing good. Correction: The PTO Amount is 4 weeks, starting off, and that is good. Do have some good people/cool folks working here - just none in management.
Cons
One of the HR individuals walks by the smoking area and plays Tattle-Tell - and if you are a vaper or smoker, she tries and make you pay extra for insurance, even if you eat healthy and an avid Gym-Goer and take care of yourself. They can be 300 LB's and eat bad and yet they judge you if you vape sometimes, to be social with co-workers. They are a young department and TYRANNICAL. That is not typical for HR departments - first for me to experience. NOT GOOD. Health benefits are expensive Open-Seating environment so managers can walk around on power trips and know every time you sneeze. It is a rinky-dink company and a hostile work environment. Everyone is looking (quietly) for other jobs and just want out. Work/Life balance is promoted as being good (start off with good PTO amount of 4 weeks). The I.T. environment is a joke. They leave out environmental details to get you in, treat you like a sub-par child and you might be Mid or Upper career, but tell you (once you are in) that you are "entry level." The team is segregated and each person does different things - they give you the petty items that no one wants to do - so therefore, it is NOT a team. They get you in, and give you this CRM admin (Data entry/Moneky-work) stuff and you just cannot enhance your career here. They have a guy that does Hardware, guy that does System Admin work, everything is divided on the 5-person team. IF you like a manager that sits out on the floor with you and micro-manages EVERYTHING, constantly, and if you like a manager's manager that sits at the end of the row, with glass windows that looks out at everyone, and judges how many times you get up, you might LOVE it here. Every time you get up to get water or blow your nose, they sit there and talk about you and time your restroom breaks. It's a bad atmosphere and its breeding grounds for social intolerance. IT Departments can be fun in some workplaces, and it can be hostile in others, depending on Management and personalities. This place just isn't there yet. Pay is lower than market average and they bring in persons with the skillsets they want and what they feel will enhance Nuvectra, but are intimidated by you, if you are AWESOME. You go un-utilized, bashed/trash-talked and you just lose experience. Meanwhile, they don't care about you quitting a job you loved, to DECEIVE you and bring you into their RINKY-DINK culture. DONT DO IT! IF you are looking for a quick job for money or a transition or need to feed your kids/family, then take the job but keep looking and have the goal / know that you are doing it temporarily. But KEEP LOOKING, for the love of God, keep looking. Unless of course, you like being treated like you work at an Entry Level gigg, or you actually are Entry Level, then this place might be okay for you. The management at this company is very immature - it is a new company / break-away company. They Tattle-Tell and do not like people that have experience levels from Large corporations. They think they do because they want the experience when they need to fill a position. But once you are in there, the truth settles in, and they instantly back-bite. I have had really good jobs - I am not here to DOG the place, un-warranted, but it is totally warranted. FURTHERMORE, I want to help other I.T. guys/gals out there that might be considering a move to Nuvectra I.T... Like I said, do it for a paycheck at first - but know that you need to keep interviewing. It's just not a good atmosphere. There are great jobs/companies out there and this place TOTALLY is NOT it. If you do join the team for a check (I hope you don't have to do that), stay to yourself and don't tell anyone on the IT team your personal business. Best that way, trust me! It's just RINKY-Dink and it comes from the TOP, Down for the I.T. Department.
