Pros
If you’re looking to build your resume and get some experience, this might be the place for you. There is opportunity to learn and if you can make it a year, and build good relationships, then you can move on to bigger and better things. If you do what you’re supposed to at a minimum but go above beyond what you’re asked, you’ll excel and possibly learn a lot. If you like free pizza, donuts and potential weight gain and diabetes tied to it, this might be the place for you.
Cons
There are better employers in San Antonio. There are definitely better paying jobs if you have the right experience, which OKIN may provide. Environment and culture is questionable. It is quite toxic and very clique-y, and rumors spread like a California wildfire. Training and development is virtually non existent - a small number of individuals may get taken under the wing of someone more senior. Some department heads don’t deserve the position they hold so please be wary. Management (including Team Leads) need training, BADLY. Local management does not like to be questioned. I would recommend to STAY FAR FAR AWAY if you have decent experience - your mental health will thank this review for it.
