Pros

Most likely your team and Business Development Head will be the only aspects of OYO you will enjoy. Also it’s not a bad salary if you live outside of a major city in the south

Cons

Indian management is insanely toxic. They are misogynistic, manipulative, and compulsive liars. I’ve done well for myself at this company performance wise and have formed amazing relationships with my US managers and coworkers, however the Indian team continuously sabotages us and berates us. Company culture wise they are behind the times by at least 80-100 years. They think that just because they have a higher title that they are entitled to treat you like dirt, when in reality that primitive mindset accomplishes nothing and obviously starts to detract from a productive and healthy company culture which also impacts our general productivity. Also to anyone on the fence about joining, do so if you have no need for regular income. This company is insanely unstable and the massive layoffs have everyone walking on ice. Also there are credible rumors that there will be a 2nd round of layoffs in the next few months. It’s only a matter of time and the charade is gone and OYO becomes another one of Softbanks growing list of failed Tech Unicorns.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to work on real-world machine learning problems, exposure to large-scale data, supportive colleagues, fast-paced culture that encourages growth and continuous learning.

Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging at times due to tight deadlines, rapid changes in priorities, and the need to adapt quickly in a high-pressure startup-like environment.
