Do not get involved with OVG and Penn State, they don't care about your well being. - Executive Chef Oak View Group Employee Review

Pros

I gained good experience. I know what to watch out for in the future.

Cons

Will lie to employees about bonuses in order to get them to work unreasonable schedules. Good chefs are asked to do the work of bad chefs with no compensation. GM will ignore, phone calls, emails and texts. They will deny PTO requests and they do not pay out PTO when you resign with notice.

Pros

Honestly, for this group at this location there are no positives.

Cons

Where to start. Incompetent senior management, zero training, lazy co-workers who throw everything on the new people then talk behind their backs. Endless hours - literally you'll work for weeks at a time with no time off during the basketball and hockey seasons - with no thanks for the time and effort. As soon as the season's over they'll walk you to the door with no explanation. They treat people as disposable assets. Use them for as long as they need them, then get rid of them and hire someone new when it gets busy again. Rinse and repeat. HR is useless. Absolute worst place you can work. Stay away.
