Pros
Nature of the job (Fertility Nursing) is insightful, challenging, and rewarding.
Cons
Extremely toxic management. The head of operations which happens to be the physician’s wife micro-manages nurses to the extent that at times, nursing meeting was every five to ten minutes, just so she could pick at what every team member did wrong, which is most often than not, not actually wrong, but just not the way she wants the work done. This is counter-productive as work gets stalled, and it can get very busy. The job turnover is so short for all staff from reception to housekeeping because of the toxic work environment. As part of the nursing team, answering constantly to management that continuously breathes over my shoulder, I felt like I had no voice, my opinions were not valued, I was not valued as an employee, and I have no right to even share an inkling of an insight. I felt belittled. Also, beware of gaslighting behaviors from management. When they say you’re wrong, you’re wrong; there should be no arguing, or even defending yourself. I had a traumatic experience which made me quit in less than year.
