Pros

Legitimate FINRA licensed IB shop Interesting deals/mandates Entrepreneurial environment Relatively new office and prime location Can build good relationships that last a life time Whether junior or senior, you can get what you need here, experience or licenses wise

Cons

Just because deals are interesting, doesn't mean they close nor provide good economics Lacks junior staff compared to senior staff/MDs High commission (or only) based model so not for everyone

Pros

True managing-director autonomy with easy leadership access and zero politics—decisions get made. Consistent, quality middle-market deal flow; mandate mix is diverse enough to keep the pipeline resilient. Client base values senior attention; you actually advise, not just pitch. High-bar culture that rewards ownership, accountability, and thoughtful risk—producers thrive. Flat structure: quick cross-functional collaboration with experienced MDs and top-of-class Analysts, Associates, and Vice Presidents. Institutional-grade execution (process discipline, materials, diligence rigor) without the bureaucracy of a bulge bracket. Reputation for integrity and straight talk—wins credibility in competitive processes. Incentives align with outcomes; meaningful upside for originators and effective closers. Leadership is accessible, transparent, and decisive; feedback loops are fast. Lean, modern toolkit—no bloated systems; you can implement better tools without red tape. Strong compliance posture and sensible risk management that supports, not stifles, business. Entrepreneurial latitude to build sector theses and originate around them—firm embraces creativity. Healthy work norms for banking: intensity when it matters, but no performative face-time.

Cons

Self-starter environment: minimal hand-holding; if you need a big-bank playbook, this isn’t it. Lean brand by design: you create your own gravity—great for builders, less so for passengers. High pace, high ownership: you’ll wear multiple hats on live mandates—rewarding if you like impact. Low bureaucracy: fewer committees also means more personal accountability for outcomes. Client-first flexibility: occasional office/client travel cadence; results matter more than where you sit.
