I've been with Obsidian since its inception in 2017, and it’s been a great fit for someone like me who values independence. I appreciate not having corporate constantly monitoring my computer, emails, or worrying about whether I might leave—it's refreshing to have that level of trust and autonomy. Obsidian offers an outstanding compensation plan, with rates on the delegated side that are unmatched in the industry. While waiting for a loan to be purchased can sometimes feel a bit slow, the ability to collect on the front points immediately makes up for it. Plus, the quick closing times compared to wholesale lenders mean that, in the end, the timing balances out. If you’re a broker, it’s worth understanding the advantages of working as a delegated lender and being patient with the process. I genuinely see this as the last place I’d want to work—it’s that good.
