Pros
oe:gen is a brilliant place to work. Companies often bang on about having a "family environment" or claim to care about people as individuals, but rarely do they actually deliver on those promises - oe:gen does, and does so consistently and repeatedly. The office environment is relaxed and modern - fussball, darts, living wall, art table, creative walls, retro games console, music, beer fridge..... you get the idea. Everything is discussed openly, decisions are made as a team, and agile methodologies such as fail fast are fully encouraged. Really flexible working with regards to hours, accommodating commitments, working from home and all that sort of stuff. The fact that I would rather drive to the office than work from home speaks volumes. Everyone's motivated to do a good job, there's a real team spirit around delivering a quality product that a client is going to love - it feels like everyone just wants to turn out something great which is hugely refreshing
Cons
oe:gen is going through a bit of a growth spurt, and sometimes it feels like the odd process is a bit haphazard sometimes as this new structure (I use the term loosely) emerges. I wouldn't say it's an issue but it's something to be aware of, especially if you have previously worked in a rigid environment. Probably not the best place to work if you are a lover of the corporate world.
