Pros

transparent leadership, thoughtful co-workers, great offices, clear vision and goals, fiscally responsible, communicative management, great pay, strong board of directors, 100% uptime! I have been in a fortunate position to grow with Okta over the past 2+ years and have seen dozens of peers whose lives have been changed by the opportunity Okta has given them. It has been a great place to grow professionally. We are fortunate to be balanced with both youthful and seasoned professionals who conduct themselves with humility and grit. The market recognizes Okta's potential and we have massive companies drawing up new strategies in order to compete with us. I don't care where you are within Okta -- that is fun for all!

Cons

401k matching will come someday, but we don't have it today. Start-up doesn't accurately describe Okta anymore, so know what you want before applying. At ~600 employees and growing, there are mature processes and tightly defined goals for each role (which can be seen as good or bad depending on the individual).

Pros

Smart, talented, and supportive colleagues. Interesting products and the opportunity to work on technology that impacts many customers. Good work-life balance in most teams. Collaborative culture with opportunities to learn from experienced peers. Strong brand recognition and valuable experience for your resume

Cons

Cons Recognition is lacking, especially for individual contributors. Strong performance and consistent delivery do not necessarily translate into career advancement, promotions, or meaningful salary increases. Growth opportunities appear limited for ICs, while management roles seem to receive a greater share of advancement and compensation opportunities. After several years, many individual contributors may find themselves reaching a career plateau with few clear paths for progression. If career growth, promotion opportunities, and compensation advancement are important priorities, it may be worth evaluating other opportunities once you’ve gained experience here
