Pros

The interview process moved quickly and was organized. I had the opportunity to meet nearly the entire team and leadership (CEO, Controller, Assistance Controller, A/P, HR, Director of Sales) which gave me insight into the office environment and how leadership operated. The hiring manager or controller expressed strong initial interest and shared clear expectations about the role. Communication was timely, and there was an emphasis on transparency and collaboration. I was upfront about my availability and compensation preferences. The offer conversation included room for discussion, making this seem like a mutual alignment. I liked that there was an aptitude test at the end of the interview. As far as the role itself at this time, its considered "new"-and part-time, although I have seen positing for full-time. I liked the opportunity to build the job from scratch. However, it is a role that falls under collections of payment and outreach.

Cons

When I attempted to negotiate the hourly pay, by $2 after being asked what I’d be comfortable with, the conversation shifted. Despite expressing openness and flexibility, my counter offer was met with unexpected resistance, and the offer was ultimately withdrawn. Here there is no room for negotiation of flexibility in pay or benefits. If $2 makes a difference in mutual interest, skill set, and experience for you, this isn't the company for you. Imagine how performance reviews, and opportunities for raises and bonuses be like. The manager emphasized culture fit throughout the process, but the reaction to a standard negotiation suggested a no tolerance for discussion. There was some inconsistency between what was said about flexibility, and tasked to how things actually played out. The final outcome felt abrupt, and combative under the premise of "transparency and honesty". Perhaps, even calling me deceptive for wanting $2 than what was offer. The experience raised questions about leadership style and how negotiation or assertiveness is received internally. Keep this in mind when evaluating a company where you would want to work and grow.

Pros

Excellent company culture; friendly, tight-knit, and genuinely family-oriented •High level of autonomy with minimal micromanagement •Strong interdepartmental communication and transparency •Solid training program that sets you up for success •Competitive pay and decent benefits •Small team environment where you get to know everyone across the company •Direct access to various departments without excessive hierarchy

Cons

•Even with structured avenue for feedback from field service engineers to service leadership, constructive feedback from the field was often ignored. •Performance review and merit raise process was disorganized or neglected entirely •Some internal voices (no longer active in the field) created confusion or misrepresented current service realities •Leadership, sometimes out of touch with the demands and challenges of the FSE role •Though there are periods of significant down time. Travel expectations could be intense and poorly scheduled without much regard for work-life balance.
