Pros
Given that OnCourse is a startup, working here has been incredibly fun. The team and leadership are young and therefore extremely approachable and relatable. Almost everyone in the team has studied abroad and at good universities, which makes it an especially great experience for someone in a similar position who has studied overseas and is looking for a work environment where they will fit in. Compensation is good given the market norm for education consulting and growth prospects are really high given that the company is venturing into all sorts of products and services beyond just education consulting. If you're motivated, there will be enough for you to do. We're also moving to a bright and vibrant office right in our own office building so we're excited about that.
Cons
Nothing really so far for me. For those not used to startup life, it can be fast-paced so be prepared to jump in, get involved with everything, and get your hands dirty - but honestly, you'll have a ton of fun with that! The only other thing to be aware of is that during application season - Aug through Jan - things can get really busy around here so be prepared to pull long hours, meet tight deadlines, and deal with clients at (sometimes) odd hours in order to get everything done. However, the rest of the year isn't as bad so it balances out.
