Pros

Free leads; training; Christian values

Cons

Company very publicly fired Previous CEO; free leads that end up costing you 10’s of thousands; incredibly low contracts (on career path...starting out at 45% or 50%); very old leads to work (90+ days old); Good-old-boy system; terrible leadership with emotional immaturity (They only care about their bottom-line / unable to adapt to a changing environment / unwilling to listen to ideas that trickle upwards) ; unethical business practices, especially towards newer, unknowing agents (i.e. taking renewals and paying agents a flat rate); refusal to grant releases; No upward mobility (takes 4 years to get on a 70% contract....which most free leads systems start you out on); if you leave, you are labeled as a traitor (I.e. They ran Scotty Elliots name through the mud and attempted to pin all the companies shortcomings on his decision making...even though he is now the President at AmerLife)

Pros

One Life America is an Independent Marketing Organization (IMO). They are essentially the middle-man between you and the Life Insurance Carriers whose products you will be selling. The Insurance Carrier will provide the contract/product to the IMO --> The IMO will recruit/hire you to sell that insurance carrier's product --> You sell the insurance and get commission from it. Learning how life insurance works is relatively easy. Its mostly self study, but if you put in the effort (2-4 hours/day depending on your previous knowledge), you will get the material. Getting the license is the easiest part of the job. The hardest part of the job is actually going door-to-door and selling insurance products to the prospect as they aren't expecting you. L.I. Sales is also a saturated market. When you sell a policy, you will have a 9-month grace/chargeback period. You'll get your commission when you sell the policy; however, if the prospect cancels their policy within 9 months, you must pay back all of the money you were paid so if you sell someone a policy, MAKE SURE YOU GIVE THEM THE BEST RATE POSSIBLE!!!

Cons

Commission Based; In my experience, I paid for my own leads as well
