Pros

Management really cares and adapt your work schedule around your schedule regarding school or personal matters. Expanding fast with a lot of *potential* opportunities to grow within the company. People and management are nice. Work culture is strong in empathizing health and wellbeing. They will do their best to put you in a position to succeed. If you want it, the opportunity is reachable.

Cons

Compensation is competitive... but the roadmap in compensation growth is unclear, if not unexistant. There is nothing to aim for in that respect. Bumpy Landing - Processes are outdated, and training is not efficient for the capacity they're aiming for. But they're transparent on all that and with intentions to improve on those. So coming in is bumpy but you will still learn gradually. That goes for any position you venture in. So if you transfer to a different position/team, the training structure will need to be endured again. Process Security Angst? - There is many people retiring in Milpitas. When they leave, their knowledge leaves with them. Since processes are outdated (mostly useless), management has expressed the critical need for that knowledge to be passed down, learned. Unfortunately, if you are learning any of these processes, you kind of get stuck there. I have felt I can't branch out to learn more or collaborate with other teams, because the need to secure the process is too crucial. Understandable but unfortunate. In short: I've never heard of a company say "you're doing too much" or say no to someone asking for more challenges or more work. Some of my peers feel the same and I feel Onto is wasting a lot of their talent. Hopefully they can put more trust in associates, in that respect.

Pros

The strongest part of the company was the long-tenured employees and team members who were there prior to the leadership changes. They were knowledgeable, supportive, hardworking, and helped create a collaborative and positive culture despite the challenges brought by new management.

Cons

Finance leadership was one of the biggest issues at this company. The VP of Finance was overly micromanaging, and the CFO set unrealistic expectations while communicating in a condescending and arrogant manner. Employees with years of experience were routinely made to feel incompetent and undervalued, which created a toxic and demoralizing work environment.
