Pros
Overall good staff culture and positive place to work. Pay and benefits are good relative to other local schools, and you accrue PTO at a relatively high rate. You get a full 1 hr lunch break daily which is more than traditional schools, and teachers are not expected to work outside of contracted hours like most schools do. There is designated time throughout the day for grading, planning and other tasks.
Cons
Being a charter school in the current political climate is challenging. There have been times when charters have not been renewed, closing school doors and causing layoffs. It's a year-round school, so there are only 2 weeks of paid vacation in the summer.
