Pros
I worked at Optel for several years and truly appreciated the company’s mission and the dedication of many of my colleagues. The company has a great vision and potential in the tech industry, but unfortunately, the management issues overshadow the positives.
Cons
In recent layoffs, many hardworking employees who made real impacts were let go, while certain individuals who have been promoted to managerial positions without the necessary leadership skills remain. These managers often do not recognize their team's efforts, take credit for others' ideas, and spend more time promoting themselves than truly supporting their teams. There is a lack of follow-through on key initiatives, and constructive feedback often goes unheard. Turnover is high, and management changes frequently, creating an environment of instability and a lack of trust. Continuous improvement in efficiency and processes seems to be more talk than action. It’s disheartening to see the company’s potential held back by poor leadership practices and high turnover. I have fond memories of many colleagues who were dedicated and supportive. However, the current culture does not offer employees a reliable way to escalate concerns or feel heard by upper management.
