Not an ethical place to do business - Mechanical Design Engineer OptiCool Technologies Employee Review

Pros

Small company and a clean work environment

Cons

The owner of the company is not to be trusted. I've seen business partners and high level employees get promised things that simply never materialize. Leadership in general is significantly lacking with most positions being a revolving door. If you're looking for a job, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a data center cooling solution, I would look at bigger companies that have a chance of being around in the next 5 years.

Pros

It's the easiest company I've ever worked at. Everything moves at a reasonable pace. Co-workers are pleasant and you never feel micromanaged. Even the new CEO is down-to-Earth- and easy to talk to.

Cons

Often there is downtime, which can drag if you're used to a fast-paced environment.

Pros

They pay well, but not in comparison to what they want.

Cons

-High micro management -Long hours developing products under daily deadlines -Run like Cavalry Robotics, so basically 50 hr minimum with weekends -No remote work flexibility, so if you are sick, there goes your vacation -There is a pretty high likelyhood that you will get fired due to financial reasons or if the director does not like you -If you want to be a controls engineer here, good luck, I am leaving controls now because I believe this took the joy out of the job more so because of management at this place -In conclusion: You will be micromanaged, your hours are tracked daily, you will always underperform, you might get fired because they are not doing well or selling product, this is not a team-based environment, the whole engineering department will turn over before the end of the year, they manage the internet so you cannot have access to the outside world.
