Pros

being able to work from home

Cons

The pressure placed on employees is extreme and often crosses into scare-tactic territory. There are situations where everyone is required to perform public-facing tasks, such as posting on LinkedIn together in the same room, which feels more about control than motivation. Retention and sales numbers have clearly become the top priority, leaving little to no time to actually help customers. Employees are constantly pushed to sell, even when customers are in no financial position to buy, which creates ethical discomfort and ongoing stress. Management frequently passes their own pressure down to employees, resulting in a toxic environment where it feels unsafe to speak up or raise concerns. Unrealistic standards are enforced, and failure to meet them can lead to forced leave rather than support or coaching. Advancement is not based on performance or skill, but on how well you align yourself personally with leadership—if you’re not constantly praising leadership then growth opportunities are essentially nonexistent. While there are attractive incentives on the surface, such as working from home, they do not outweigh the reality that employees are valued almost exclusively by their numbers. Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone considering joining, especially if you’re looking for a supportive environment that prioritizes people and customers over constant pressure and metrics.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at Optimizely felt stressful and unsupported. We recognize that fast-paced, performance-driven environments can feel intense, and that experience can vary by team, role, and moment in time. Creating a culture where people feel safe to speak up, supported in their development, and aligned with customer-first values is something we take seriously. We just brought 450 people together to Amsterdam for a go to market bootcamp that showed our prioritization in learning, and supporting employees for their success. While there are clear performance metrics, the overarching feeling is that people are heads down with customers to drive their success and transform their business.

Pros

Good place to learn and build resilience

Cons

The internal experience is inconsistent and difficult to navigate. Priorities, processes, and expectations often shift quickly, which can make it challenging to feel supported, fairly evaluated, or set up for long-term success.
