Pros

Nice breakroom, monthly socials and some really kind coworkers.

Cons

When I interviewed for this job I was led to believe there would be plenty of room for growth. After working at Optio for nearly 3 years it became clear that there was no room for career growth. The pay scale is very low even for individuals with the proper credentials. There is very high turnover within both CrossCheck and Optio Solutions. Half of the company is allowed to have their phones on them while at their desks while the other half cannot. All employees are surrounded / have access to sensitive information which doesn’t make sense. For those that have children and need to stay in touch, this was very stressful. Management is very cliquey and many executives come off as intimidating / unapproachable.

At Optio Solutions and the parent Company (CrossCheck) most management positions from Department Lead to CEO have been promoted from within the company. Every individual has spent a number of years in each position before moving up within their respective Departments or transferring to another Department. Many of our Departments have between 25-35 employees with only two to three Supervisors/Managers, with low turnover at that level. The opportunity for promotion exists but requires excellent performance and time with the Company. Transferring to another department is encouraged for qualified individuals. Optio Solutions and CrossCheck operate in entirely different sectors of the financial services industry and have different types of clients. The cell phone restrictions for Optio Solutions are required by our clients. If an urgent call comes in to the Company switchboard, the employee will be notified immediately. Offering good compensation is important to us; we review on a regular basis to confirm we are competitive in the industry. Thank you for your feedback.

Pros

I work for Opto Solutions - I'm beginning to think the only review on here was made by someone who worked for CrossCheck, Inc - our parent company. None of what they stated was true for Optio Solutions. Or at least isn't any more. However, working for Optio is far better than I expected. Collections work is.. not an easy job. They totally make up for it. From employing a masseuse to come in Fridays and employees can pay $10 for a 15 minute massage while on the clock. Socials every month based on the Holiday. We just had a Build Your Own Sundae social with more ice cream and toppings than you can imagine. I have complete control over my schedule. With exceptions, but every week I fill out my own hours - really great flexibility - makes finding or having a second job easier - and being in California, it's almost a necessity to have a second job with the housing costs. Pay is pretty good, hourly, opportunity to make commissions, bonuses, auctions for gifts cards each month. Free coffee, tea, or hot cocoa provided unlimited for employees. Sometimes upper management will bring in donuts, or cookies as a reward for a meeting goals. Every one is incredibly friendly.

Cons

Collections isn't the easiest job in the world - most days the people I speak to on the pone aren't generally terrible - but sometimes you get a bad apple that really will grind your gears.

It's a pleasure to see a review that outlines some of the positive things we provide our employees and we very much appreciate the public acknowledgement. We would agree that this position isn't the easiest job in the world however, it does offer the opportunity to earn a good living for those individuals that communicate well and enjoy being on the phone.
