Pros

Recognized company in the cybersecurity VAR space. Decent salary and good work/life balance. If you have a solid territory and work hard, you can do well.

Cons

Optiv's services arm and leadership still act as if they are the 800lb gorilla in that market (they are not). Although Optiv has many security "domain experts", implementation of services often fails and destroys customer relationships. (As a sales person, you carry both a services and product quota). Vendor relationships are deteriorating due to many employees leaving the organization and taking customers with them. Optiv is unfortunately trending down on the list of VARs that OEMs want to do business with. Commission structure is not as competitive as other VARs in the space which is why many sales people have left. Although this can be common, territories seem to be aligned where certain reps obtain the lion share of workable accounts, leaving other reps on the team with accounts that have already been worked over for years or those accounts are dissatisfied with previous Optiv engagements those and relationships are unable to be repaired. This makes it very hard to succeed unless you hang around long enough until someone else on your team quits and you pick up stronger accounts.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Supportive Management Depending on who you get Good work life balance as long as you don't take the job with you after hours Work from Home Hands on Training - could still use improvement Annual pay increase

Cons

2 layoffs in a year when they keps saying everything was fine.... Laying off core contributors so now everyone who is left is doing the work of 2-3 people and not being compensated accordingly Only way to get a worth while pay increase is to move up in the company the annual increases are not inline with inflation or cost of living
