Business outlook
Pros
The people are extremely smart and the most pleasant that I've ever worked with. The business model is very straightforward and ostensibly lucrative. Lots of interesting problems to address and technologies to play with for new features.
Cons
In no hurry to set up career growth tracks for software engineers. Flailed around with one-off POCs that did not generate repeatable revenue for way too long. Cut an awful lot of corners to get lots of features in production and tech debt is rather large and long-term support requirements for old software is greatly hindering innovation. Difficult process to adopt new technologies that are not focused around new features (e.g. better logging, monitoring, etc...).
