Pros

- They pay on time and provide all benefits correctly - A relatively good culture (see the cons)

Cons

I joined this company and noticed that in the beginning, they strongly supported development within the company. However, after climbing a few steps internally, I could see how lost the leadership team was. The Software Director is a very intelligent guy and great at what he does, but the people right below him are so lost they look like they’re in the middle of a shootout blindfolded. My theory that there are some “favorites” was confirmed after reading some comments here. It’s very noticeable there. People with very low technical knowledge or with little to no understanding of IT technologies are in high positions. It makes no sense. And as mentioned here in some comments, they did indeed acquire a Mexican company, and the justification was that they wanted to focus on the LATAM market and that everyone was safe. This speech continued for about three years, saying everyone’s jobs were safe… But every time a layoff happened, the CEO would come and say the same thing… and more layoffs kept happening… So it was pure nonsense.

Thank you for sharing this and for being direct about how your experience changed over time. Your advice – be honest, even when the message is hard – is one we take seriously. We understand how it feels when reassurances don’t match reality, and how quickly that erodes trust. That’s something we’ve had to reflect on carefully, and it's made us more committed to being straight with people, even when the news is hard. On leadership and management development: we’ve been investing more intentionally in the layers of leadership that connect strategy to day-to-day work. That includes clearer expectations at each level, stronger support for managers, and making sure technical expertise is recognized and valued. We're starting to see some signs of that showing up. In our latest pulse survey, manager satisfaction was one of our highest-scoring areas, with 83% of respondents reporting strong satisfaction with their managers. That's encouraging, but we know it doesn't reflect every experience. On growth and favouritism: no one should feel that advancement is about proximity to the right people. We've worked to make our promotion and compensation processes more criteria-based and transparent, and that work continues. 3+ years is a meaningful contribution, and we're sorry it ended this way. But your honesty means a lot, and it's exactly what helps to keep us accountable.

Pros

Orium seems to be hitting its stride. I've watched the transition of Myplanet to Orium as the company embraced composable commerce. Some early projects were really difficult, in particular in 2020-2021, but I see us getting better and better now with each new client as the expertise and experience in the company continues to grow. The company is definitely at the forefront of a market that is seeing growth. I've never worked at a company when they were so clearly in the right place at the right time the way Orium is right now. I appreciate the transparency of management on priorities at the regular all-hands and Q&A sessions. This includes updates on key operating metrics and financial health data. Given the uncertainty in the world right now I find it reassuring to know the company is doing well. Things are fast paced and you have to like that kind of environment. I find I'm always learning and able to take on new challenges that push me out of my comfort zone. The leadership that I work with are smart, supportive and approachable.

Cons

Growth and change means growing pains. I noticed two leaders who seemed spread too thin last year end. It impacted me less but I could see their stress was starting to affect their direct teams. More recently their responsibilities have been changed to be more manageable. I think HR also intervened based on feedback/complaints and I've noticed a change for the better. They're empowering their teams more and micro-managing them less. Another example is 1:1s getting cancelled or not happening at all in some of our project teams last year. Management re-organized this process at the end of 2022 and this seems to have improved. I appreciate that management acts to improve things, and it's probably unavoidable at a company growing this fast, but I wish we could avoid some of these challenges in the first place.

Pros

- people - location - benefits - challenges that help you grow professionally - Mindfulness Mondays were great to take the break and reflect

Cons

- some people needed more structure than others - could be a culture shock for those that come from an larger enterprise organization.

Really appreciate your time writing this review. It sounds like a lot of your experience here at Myplanet resonated with you. I appreciate your time contributing to forums such as SOTU, Company Q&A, Morning Coffee and for providing feedback into our bi-weekly one-on-one feedback sessions. The best ideas we have heard and implemented come from those sessions. We try to be up-front that individuals who need extensive structure may not be a fit here at Myplanet. We're looking for those who can bring new ideas and challenges to our team. Thank-you again for your positive contributions to our story.
