Pros

Great pay if you want to work 6 am to 8 pm, and 6 to 8 hrs Saturday. I lasted 3 to 4 months. Grossing near 5k each month.

Cons

Too many hours. I serviced 7 counties and the ladies in the office thought all accounts were 5 minutes apart. Which led to me putting in super long days to service all residential accounts they scheduled. When corporate got a call and got a service this time was not considered during your day making it even longer. Supplies stocking was an issue to perform my job. Why would you need glue boards? (When it is supposed to be all ipm). I was the only employee putting in enough hours for overtime and that pay was not paid correctly. The office needed route planning software as the lack of knowledge that towns are more than 5 minutes away from each other. I replanned my route as orkin asks you to do and the office still scheduled however they felt. The worst part was 1 office employee was known for throwing checks away to get employees in trouble, I was highly offended when I was accused of stealing and asked repeatedly to visit that customers house and demand a new check. ( This was a franchise and not corporate)

Pros

Good pay, opportunities for sales depending on region

Cons

Orkin cares more about quantity over quality. If you care about doing a good job, don't work here. They will load your day up with tons of jobs and not enough time to do them (or do a good job anyways.) Management lives in their own bubble, and communicates poorly. I transfered to a new region and all services were a mess. Customers who have had Orkin for a year plus had homes still infested with pests. Prior techs hadn't cleaned any cobwebs, never cleaned webbing off siding or eaves. It was embarrassing. Commercial services weren't any better. I believe prior techs were just scanning stations and leaving. Orkin only cares if you punch through reports and collect money. If you also bring up customers that are being overcharged, management will never fix that either. Benefits also weren't great and quite expensive. Manager would also use slurs like the R-word despite knowing I had an autistic child. Just a gross place with gross values.
