Pros

Working remotely is the only good thing.

This company is awful. They will act like they care but do not at all. Trust me they put on a really good show but they don’t. The threaten to “be brought back into the office” is constantly looming. Some are expected to not only do their own job but consistently be autoed into a “phone que.” There is no time to get your actual job done and are consistently told that the que is the priority.. and then will your daily tasks fall behind you will fear being “written up” at the same time if you do not auto into the phone que you will get written up and constantly told to auto in. Everyone working for this company is an adult, There is no reason for so much micromanaging. The only reason I am still at this company is because I can work remotely. I would never recommend anyone to work at Orkin. I know people say they overworked but when you have employees crying at their desk. You have employees so anxious for work they’re vomitting. Or you have employees who have developed rashes due to the stress.. I’d say there is a problem.. oh and don’t forget about our yearly meeting with the region manager to say how we feel and everything that’s going wrong and nothing changing ever.. or telling a manager you’re overwhelmed and they tell you to work overtime.. asking for extra time off of the phones gets you just about no where … I’d like to think things will change but I know they won’t..

Scheduling can be tricky at times, can be stressful at times, some long work days, you get out what you put in

Good pay, opportunities for sales depending on region

Orkin cares more about quantity over quality. If you care about doing a good job, don't work here. They will load your day up with tons of jobs and not enough time to do them (or do a good job anyways.) Management lives in their own bubble, and communicates poorly. I transfered to a new region and all services were a mess. Customers who have had Orkin for a year plus had homes still infested with pests. Prior techs hadn't cleaned any cobwebs, never cleaned webbing off siding or eaves. It was embarrassing. Commercial services weren't any better. I believe prior techs were just scanning stations and leaving. Orkin only cares if you punch through reports and collect money. If you also bring up customers that are being overcharged, management will never fix that either. Benefits also weren't great and quite expensive. Manager would also use slurs like the R-word despite knowing I had an autistic child. Just a gross place with gross values.
