Pros
Otus has a great SaaS product. Being part of the team that’s taking it to market is exciting, especially because it’s truly making life easier for educators, who have the hardest jobs in the world.
I have all the tools I need (a brand new MacBook Pro) to do the work that I need to do, and my team is supportive.
Leadership is (actually, seriously) really good. I’ve never been anywhere where leaders encourage feedback and truly listen to and learn from employees. We’re a pretty flat org without having to define what flat means. To me, that’s what flat should be.
There is a true work/life balance: 2 days WFH is standard and encouraged, in addition to a ton of PTO days.
I really love my coworkers. It’s not a cutthroat environment. We support each other the best we can. Otus is a welcoming place to work without feeling like you have to “drink the koolaid.” Do your job, care about what you do, then go home.
The location is great for me. I love working in the West Loop.
Cons
It’s really hard to think of any. Ed tech in the K12 space is crowded but I feel confident we’re doing the right things to bring Otus to market the right way.
