Pros

Helping the children in need. Job was located close to home so commute was rather easy.

Cons

The bosses were very unprofessional. They went out drinking with their staff and talked about drinking and hanging out at work. Director knew nothing about running a business yet try to dictate what I should do when I was more experienced in my position she was. There administrative staff consisted mostly of family members. They complain they were broke all the time and didn't want to pay their employees accordingly to what they were worth. When they have no more need for you to drop you like a hot potato. After I left I heard they failed their audit and most of their staff quit and all new people had to be hired.

Pros

Kind families, nothing else positive to say about the company as a whole.

Cons

Not only did I have a supervisor who did not provide adequate guidance to me while starting off my career, but the company could not EVER pay me on time. MONTHS would go by and my pay was not adequate. Administration and my supervisor could not provide follow up about late payment. Company stopped doing direct deposit with no reasoning why. Was absolutely worked to a mental breaking point by needing to see over 40 families within manhattan without concern for travel. If you are looking for a company where you will learn / grow from do not work here. OCF takes advantage of young clinicians and should honestly be investigated by NYS workforce for wrongful treatment of employees and by ASHA for lack of appropriate supervision for CFY-SLPs
