Job provides basic employment, but culture is harsh - Server Outback Steakhouse Employee Review

Pros

It was a job. At least that.

Cons

The culture is what's expected at a corporate restaurant. You are nothing to them. You are replaceable. The customers can treat you any way they'd like and they will not ever be on your side.

Pros

The store level can be a really rewarding experience, I come to work and genuinely enjoy my job and coworkers.

Cons

Hovering corporate can be a headache. You don't have a say on which location you are sent to after training just a consideration of your location and commute. The bonus system is lacking with metrics that are hard to obtain and only quarterly. Raises are hardly cost of living wages and seniority isnt rewarded as new managers typically come in making as much if not more than senior managers.
