Pros

It’s virtual, you can somewhat choose your times.

Cons

Management was highly disorganized and communication was often poor. There was little to no formal training provided, and classes were frequently assigned at the last minute with little warning or preparation time. When I started, I clearly communicated that I was unavailable on a specific day of the week and was told this would not be an issue. Despite this, I continued being scheduled during those times and had to repeatedly remind management before changes were made. Even after adjustments, the schedule remained difficult to manage. Instructors were expected to prepare lessons outside of class time without compensation for preparation. Payment processes were inconsistent, and paychecks were frequently delayed, often requiring reminders and follow-up to receive payment. Overall, the students were enjoyable to teach, but the lack of organization, scheduling issues, communication problems, and payroll inconsistencies made the experience frustrating.

Pros

Smart and genuinely talented coworkers across many teams. The company had a strong mission, and earlier on the culture felt collaborative and supportive. Benefits and work-life balance were also solid for a startup environment.

Cons

The company changed noticeably after leadership transitions this year. Priorities and strategy shifted frequently, which created uncertainty across teams and made long-term planning difficult. Communication around organizational changes often felt overly optimistic compared to what employees were experiencing internally. Multiple restructurings and layoffs also had a significant impact on morale and trust by the end.
