Pros

They have lots of organic and gluten free options. Convenient parking for staff, the benefits are okay. They have a lot of products that you can't find in a normal grocery store. Close to Michaels... art supplies.

Cons

First off, the people in middle management have held their jobs for more than a decade, so upwards mobility Is limited. Issaquah is the busiest PCC so workers get really stressed. People do gossip, which is common in the Grocery industry, but the managers get really bitter when they use their business emails to spread rumors about the younger employees, ageism. Some guys who work there are creeps, they cause a lot of the female workers to get uncomfortable or even quit. PCC doesn't even drug test, so people totally sell each other drugs on the property, pop pills, and barricade themselves in the bathrooms to shoot up. Sexist, homophobic and racist, why does the management hold grudges against the Mexican deli workers? I don't know. Theft is huge problem. Drugs just happen. Nepotism's really annoying, you can get false employee reviews or even fired if you mention anything about a manger's heroin and/or macaroni theft addiction. Honestly, if you get past the pretty facade of an expensive organic food store, the place is a hot mess.

Pros

Low stress side gig - combination of customer service and dishwashing, assisting nice chefs, helping adults and kids learn to cook. PCC discount is great. Customers are typically happy, chefs are good at what they do and easy to work with, classrooms are nice working spaces.

Cons

The cooking program has recently been revamped and is mostly meat-forward date nights. Current upper management has a top-down style and has burned bridges with many local chefs and past assistants.
