Pros
The only good thing leadership of this company has ever done is step back and allow the directors to manage their teams the way they want. The tech organization was the embodiment of collaboration, efficiency, and productivity because we were all treated with respect. At the lower levels that manifested as motivation and genuine concern for the quality of the product. Big kudos to the managers and leads who did their best in a challenging environment.
Cons
Leadership of this company had zero concern for the people and processes under their care. When information became available it was hidden, soft-peddled, or straight-out lied about. Firings and lay-offs were handled in the most inconceivably childish and cowardly way possible, with the CEO refusing to take any responsibility for or part in the activity. Managers who were losing their employees were notified just minutes before the meeting and then left to break the news without any justification or empathy from the levels above. This company's business model was nearly foolproof and leadership still managed to run it into the ground to where they needed a bail-out and merger due to their bad financial decisions.
