Pros
The company creates a good product for the most part and has a surprisingly good IT department for a company that is a manufacturer of trailers. During my time of working there I accomplished a lot of great things and even made some really good friends which made my departure somewhat difficult. Most of the time the challenges were difficult and rewarding, and they did give good bonuses - especially for what is normal for the area, but then again most of the people that work there have a good work ethic. They even gave me raises as well, although after my departure I found out getting raises may not be that common, but then again I would work unusually hard and the money was never that important as long as real challenges kept coming and the politics stayed away.
Cons
I worked there for a number of years and got to see the company go through some significant changes during that time. I wish I could say that everything was an improvement, but from my understanding not everything has improved. Benefits are likely a little worse now than what they were when I began, but it never really affected me. I think one of the more negative things to have occurred is a mixture of mismanagement, distrust and a counter-productive competitiveness that has occurred in part from merging with other trailer companies through the entity American Trailer Works. It is not bad to be profit driven, but at times it feels like there is an unhealthy focus on ebitda that gets in the way. For the most part politics was not much of an issue at the company, but in the last two years I would say that it has been creeping in.
