Pros

Pay after a few years

Cons

Communication is non existent between departments, management is well aware but refuses to mend or fix the issue. This same situation is rampant through the whole business. Major issues, concerns etc. Will be known by the team and then when you've beat a horse to death it will become the crisis of the day after most have gave up caring. Production should not supercede over safety. Training is non existent due to there only being a few senior people left who actually know how to run the plant correctly. You will frequently train your boss or superior since they like to hire outside talent rather than the good talent from within. Accountability will not be a talking point as none is upheld whatsoever, come to work late, no call no show, insubordination, poor work ethic etc. Basically a free rain to do whatever because the precedence has been set that everyone knows there will be no repercussions. Raises are based on seniority and not performance so you'll work next to people who can't do half what you can but they'll make more since they've been here longer. The total rewards program is a joke, they will compile the benefits that the company paid and try and include that as a revenue of income as well as the endless pizza parties, shirts etc that no one wants yet are constantly provided. Career development is based on the 'click' of upper management and how much you can brown nose them. All in all if you like to be silenced and have no voice and can put up with leaders who have no right to be in that position this is the place for you.

Cons

You need to be able to pick up on things quickly, the job involves a lot of going with the flow and figuring things out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. At POET, we are committed to maintaining a professional workplace where team members are treated with respect and where clear expectations, accountability, and confidentiality are core standards across our operations. We also want to clarify that team member compensation and personnel records are maintained within secure electronic HR systems rather than physical documents, and access to that information is strictly restricted in accordance with company policy. The situation described does not align with the processes we have in place to protect confidential information. Individual experiences can vary, and we encourage team members to raise questions or concerns through the appropriate internal channels so they can be reviewed and addressed in a timely and constructive way. Our focus remains on supporting a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where team members can contribute, grow, and succeed. — POET
