Pros

Lots of opportunities for research, writing, and learning about new topics Staff relies heavily on interns so not just getting coffee and organizing files

Cons

Unpaid Some weeks can be slower than others, largely depending on how much is happening in the news cycle

Pros

Well informed on MENA issues as well as in depth knowledge on how DC works: The Hill, WH, State and the Think Tank world. Excellent relations with other organizations and stays on top of developments in the region and DC making it a true hub for all things related to Democracy in the MENA region and US policy. Finally, it is one of the best places for interns as the experience is hands on and includes considerable content (not just photocopying).

Cons

Small and strapped for funding. Management is a bit too involved and does not delegate enough often resulting in unnecessary delays in work and constrained space for creativity.
