Pros

Excellent flexibility in available PTO and hours . Coworkers and supervisors and great to work with and an overall decent culture and place to work. Also a decent opportunity to learn good skills (such as documentation and lab technique) and a way to find more opportunities in the industry.

Cons

Compensation is among the lowest for Biotech companies in the area I worked and I was offered significant raise by simply switching companies. raises are often poor, infrequent, and the benefits are only ok. Additionally turnover is quite high and it is uncommon for employees to stay for more than 2-3 years, partially due to low compensation but also due to the treatment of workers as expendable.

Pros

Provided health insurance. Good coworkers Good exposure to team at client site If you have a good technical lead, the job can be great!

Cons

You have 2 bosses (Technical lead from Client Site) and your PPD boss. PPD Boss does not know what is going on If you have a bad technical lead, your life can be miserable. Pay is low No protection from abusive technical lead (coworkers on same team can have a drastically different experience)
