Pros

1. If you love writing, this is a dream job, constant updates, reports and explanations are needed to prove you're actually working, since time tracker screenshots and output alone aren't enough. 2. Builds mental endurance, you’ll learn to cope with work insecurity, micromanagement and the fascinating game of office politics. Filipino employees, especially those close to HR or part of the management inner circle, enjoy impressive job security and leniency. 3. Provides excellent perspective, you’ll gain a whole new appreciation for your past and future employers. 4. A true test of patience and professionalism under erratic leadership shifts. 5. A working system will be broken soon after a new lead joins, so enjoy stability while it lasts.

Cons

1. New team leads often arrive with a mission to "shake things up", usually by disrupting well-functioning processes and replacing them with confusion. 2. Constructive suggestions are often viewed as a threat, especially when they come from someone not aligned with the favored group. 3. There's more emphasis on being agreeable than being impactful, obedience is valued far more than innovation. 4. Employees are rewarded based on loyalty to individuals rather than value delivered to the company. 5. Leadership decisions seem detached from ground realities, often trusting selective feedback that serve the messenger more than the message. 6. Favoritism over fairness, politics over process. Political safety nets protect low performers while hardworking employees remain invisible. Value creation takes a back seat to keeping the “right people” happy. 7. The company remains small and stagnant, partly because it refuses to empower those actually driving value. 8. The company cares more about loyalty to individuals than loyalty to the mission or the work. 9. While the CEO is undoubtedly talented, his wife's involvement in HR, particularly her close alignment with certain managers, appears to be driven more by personal alliances and popularity dynamics than by the organization's mission or performance goals. This has contributed to a culture of internal politics, where decisions are often based on personal likability rather than merit or impact.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While we regret that your time with us didn’t meet your expectations, we appreciate your contributions over the past two years. It is important to clarify that the company is not stagnant. In fact, we’ve doubled our headcount in the last two years and continue to expand our operations. Growth brings complexity, and we acknowledge that scaling can introduce challenges in leadership transitions, process alignment, and communication. We remain committed to improving how we support our teams through these changes. As a fully remote organization, documentation and visibility are essential—not as a measure of control, but to ensure alignment, accountability, and collaboration across time zones. While your remarks suggest a culture of micromanagement and politics, our goal is to foster transparency and continuous improvement. We witness that our employees are focused on delivering value, not navigating internal dynamics. We take concerns about fairness seriously. Our policies are designed to promote equity, and we do not tolerate favoritism based on location or personal relationships. If any employee feels otherwise, we encourage direct dialogue with HR so concerns can be addressed constructively. Finally, we welcome constructive suggestions—especially those backed by evidence and a spirit of collaboration. While your feedback reflects both a desire for change and skepticism toward innovation, we remain open to ideas that help us serve our customers better and build a stronger workplace. Thank you again for your input.
