Pros
the people who you work with and that’s literally it
Cons
we are worked to the bone, treated like robots, there is a serious lack of empathy not only just from the management side but also the supervisors in the store. the supervisors have such double standards, claiming other staff are on their phones when the supervisors themselves have been caught on their phones multiple times playing games???? which is not a part of their jobs but if one of the other store colleagues even glances at their phone we are reprimanded. we aren’t allowed to converse with each other during quiet times, even if there are no customers on the shop floor we are told we are “talking too much” but the supervisors are constantly chatting amongst themselves, even moving from their assigned positions to converse with each other and distracting the other from serving customers and doing their actual job. supervisors never want to do any actual work, always placing themselves on “float/restock” or “till” but even within those rotations they don’t do the work required of them. if they are on tills they just go on their phones and make whoever else is placed on tills do the work, and if they are on float they just sit in the stock room and god forbid someone needs covering because it’s their break, the supervisors never go and cover, always making someone else do that. constantly making us wait when it’s our break time but when it’s time for them to go to break they don’t care if there’s an adequate amount of staff on the shop floor. supervisors facilitate this aura of fear and are just point blank rude to us.
