Pros

They are always hiring and pay slightly above minimum wage (14-15). Training cost is covered, but there is a catch. See cons.

Cons

Dangerous/uncomfortable/rigorous work for peanuts pay. It’s a Russian roulette, if you know the right manager to butter up you can sit free all day playing games on phone, if you are a newbie with no diplomacy means you will find yourself in patrolling positions walking very long distances and often in potentially risky environments. The hiring process is a scam and preys on the fact that a lot of applicants are new to country and don’t really know laws or their rights. They will pay for your training IF you pass, and IF you retain employment with them for six months full time or 9 months part time. Whether or not you will remain employed is up to them and you still have to pay them training. When you visit their office they tell everyone if you quit after finishing classes/licensing and being employed (which I am assuming is being actually posted to a position and start working) you will be liable to pay the training back if you quit before bond period. But they will also MAKE YOU PAY IF YOU SIMPLY SIGN UP WITH THEM and didn’t even go through these steps. I don’t even see how this is legal, as even the contract doesn’t state this clearly. And this is where I assume they prey on unsuspecting new students/immigrants etc. to cough up money when it isn’t even enforceable by scaring them with wording that they owe money. I think this company needs a solid lawsuit (or a few) to bring its shady practice to light. I don’t see how else the HR is able to collect money in this way unless it’s getting a nod of approval from upper management.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We apologize that you did not have a good employment experience with us. We do not condone the private use of phones (ie: playing games) on any of our sites. If this is something you witnessed, please reach out to us or your previous Employee Care Coordinator to address this issue. We do pay for our pre-employment training, which is subject to a commitment contract. This contract is explained in both the phone interview and in-person interview, and is also clearly outlined in the employment contract. A candidate who has already obtained the required certifications prior to applying to Paladin, is exempt from attending portions of the pre-employment training and are not obligated to those training costs. Since we are a Basic Security Training School, we are able to offer any member of the public who wishes to obtain this training at a competitive price. If you wish to speak further, we are more than happy to have a conversation with you! We strongly advise any person who is entering into employment with any new company, to carefully read and be aware of what is in their employment contract before signing the document.

Pros

Decent pay, hours, and benefits for full time employees

Cons

They hold onto crappy employees, they'll lie straight to your face and manipulate you and the clients they have contracts with, communication is subpar.
