Free tanning doesn't outweigh the drama. - Key Holder Palm Beach Tan Employee Review

I was employed here a year and a month. During that year, I've had 3 different managers, and several coworkers. The entire store except me and one or two others quit 3 times as well. If you think this is going to be a relaxing tanning salon job, you're wrong. Although I enjoyed it at first, it soon turned into sales being shove down our throats and disappointed customers. We work by ourselves at night in an area that has had at least 3 robberies and when we express concern, corporate doesn't care because they'd rather have money. Very manipulative management, if they don't want you, they'll make up a bogus reason to fire you, or if you put your two weeks notice in, they'll find any reason they can to fire you, which is what happened with every employee I've known here. Customer service comes AFTER sales. They expect you to pester every single customer until they buy something or snap on you because they are pitched to every single time they come in to tan and want nothing more than to relax. Also, try not to work when it's bad weather--I'm talking tornados and wind gusts, or you'll end up like me, ALONE in the dark WITHOUT POWER, not allowed to leave even though there's a big tree down behind the salon and roof shingles all over the parking lot because a huge wind gust came through. But you're not valued as an employee. So have fun sitting alone in pitch black darkness! That key raise you were promised? HA! Forget it. You work for minimum wage. Oh and commission, but that's non-existent in slow season. You can be on the front page of sales by employees and you will still be expected to do more. Also, if your manager messes up your schedule three weeks in a row with your availability sheet under her nose and Calendar too, you get wrote up on a major infraction, because how dare you have your availability sheet set to your available hours! I should have quit a LONG time ago. I want to save you from the idiots. Don't do it!
