Pros
-Some coworkers were great people trying to make the best of a bad environment. - Occasional flexibility with hours (when convenient for management). - Ability to earn some small commissions
Cons
- Safety issues were ignored, like emergency exits that are stuck closed and don't open properly, long-expired fire extinguishers, and broken equipment that stayed unrepaired for weeks. - Unrealistic sales quotas and intense pressure for commission in a low-traffic environment. - Management frequently cut hours for employees with lower sales, even though they were already giving them the hardest shifts. - Sales were sometimes taken by managers, and there was clear favoritism and nepotism in hiring, and shift assignments. - Employees were contacted excessively after hours and expected to be "on" all the time, without compensation or boundaries. Valid/ important concerns of employees were dismissed. (Lousy district and general managers, and assistant managers: Brooke, Kelsey & Sara - hijacked sales from other employees, ignored concerns, shirked expected responsibilities, gave inadequate or practically NO training for new employees, poor communication & information dissemination to ALL employees, condescending, apathetic, or presumptuous responses to employees' questions or concerns,) - Former managers who tried to do things right were pushed out, while inappropriate conduct by others was tolerated or even rewarded. - Employees were treated like they should be "grateful" to work there, like it's a life calling, rather than respected contributors with outside lives and goals.
