It's a good job for Counter Help -- not so much for Cooks. - Cook Panda Express Employee Review

Pros

Pay was OK compared to similar jobs but not great by any means, Free meal.

Cons

I wasn't given a store tour on the first day, was finding out where things were weeks and weeks later. I wasn't a fan of the 11-12 hours shifts especially when you're told to take a 30 minute lunch break instead of an hour and no other breaks in the shift. Asst. Manager seemed more knowledgeable and helpful than the Manager in most cases. When you're opening you have thirty minutes to fill the front line and start the rice, which can be a little intimidating when you come into an under stocked station. Counter Help would frequently be allowed to stand around and have full length conversations while dishes would be piling up or rice would be waiting to be panned, even though compensation seems to be the same - not much teamwork to get stuff done.
