Pros

-Everyone is extremely passionate and invested towards the business we are building -Passion never gets in the way of being nice and having fun -Great benefits (US team included) -Beautiful office where staff is well looked after (free lunches once a week) -Great systems and investment in technology for a small company -Dog friendly!

Cons

-I consistently say the only con I have about my job/company is that I have to work at all (because who wouldn't prefer laying around on a beach)

Pros

The creative, progressive, collaborative culture comes from the founder but really goes through the whole business. Work-life balance is super important to Papier we have a hybrid working pattern and also offer the opportunity to work from anywhere for 4 weeks a year which is great for travel and extending trips. There’s always social things on including office yoga, a soundbath, workshops, talks and ‘school trips’ to exhibitions etc. In both offices everyone sits down for lunch together too. Communication is great across the business particularly the all hands - monthly meet - hosted by the Papier founder which shines a lot on lots of areas of the business and it’s a time to all connect in person too with all the teams. Papier is committed to personal development and it’s very much supported by managers but owned by you - I have always felt that the founder and my managers have considered and supported my career goals and infact across 5 years I’ve moved between roles and taken on more responsibilities. I’ve also had the opportunity with Papier to relocate to NY and be part of the team working to grow our presence in the US. I continue to learn and grow at Papier as we scale and I genuinely enjoy work every day which is not something I take for granted - it’s great to work alongside an equally committed and talented team!

Cons

The high-performance and fast pace environment won’t be for everyone!

Pros

- I met some amazing people during my time there, friends that I still remain in contact with today - good additional benefits, private healthcare, free tuesday lunches, stocked fridge etc

Cons

-A lot of people in mangement positions with no previous experience of being managers / having relevant training. This led to lack of support in terms of training and development and at times unprofessional feedback - No budget for proper training or guidance on how to exceed in the role. You have to learn as you go, which works for the interim but seriously holds you back if you want to progress in your career in any way at all - There is a cliquey vibe to the company in terms of culture. A lot of promotions are based on if the 'OG's' like you not if you would be good at the role - Diversity and inclusion is talked about a lot but in reality this is just lip service and nothing is really being done internally, there is little room to progress into senior roles unless your friends with the SLT - salary packages are very low compared to industry standard with no bonus - In my time I saw people hired only to be let go months later. Instead of being trained up, employees face the consequences due to lack of planning - SLT all know each other so difficult to express how you feel
