Good Employees, Bad Management - Anonymous employee Paramount Assets Employee Review

Pros

Employees below management work very hard. Solid cohesion across departments (mostly). Quitting is fairly easy.

Cons

Unrealistic work expectations. Work does NOT stop when you clock out and they will pressure you to accept this with a smile. Low-pay with management quick to justify it rather than fairly compensate you. "What have you done for me lately" is management's entire perspective on their employees despite calling everyone family. HR is a near non-existent department run by one person who works part-time. Your exit interview is a worksheet you submit to the person the interview should be held with. You will be expected to be unwaveringly loyal to a company that will fire you at a moment's notice. Disgusting.

Pros

Certain co-workers were nice and easy to work with.

Cons

Toxic workplace. Family owned business, terrible environment. The CEO and COO are sons of the founder. The founder is a very kind man, but it did not rub off on his entitled children. They are uneducated and very insecure about it. The only reason they are where they are is because of their father. They are dismissive, condescending, rude, and think they are smarter than you when they are so obviously overcompensating for their lack of education and social skills. My personal experience working there was awful. No respect for my years of professional experience, just focused on negativity and trying to prove me wrong. They have no clue how to manage people outside of bullying employees to do what they want. Their "HR Department" consists of a person who is basically their lackey and does whatever they say, whether it's right or wrong. HR definitely does not work in the employee's best interest. Their property management practices are borderline illegal, they have no respect for their tenants whatsoever as anyone can tell by reading the multiple bad reviews regarding the locations they manage. I have seen the reviews over the years and it is very obvious current employees have been told to give five star reviews to try and make the company's rating improve. A toxic work environment to say the least and I got out of there as soon as I could.
