Pros
I find that the absolute best reason to work for CBS Interactive is the diversity, youth, and warmth of my coworkers. Whereas other places at which I have interviewed were dominated by 40-something overseas-born males, it's been a much more interesting and balanced work environment to work in at CBS Interactive. The mix is just right between the energy and education of the younger employees and the experience and knowhow of the older ones. Secondly, I've always felt that CBS Interactive has always been more than fair regarding family needs and personal health, providing adequate time off or being able to work from home as necessary. In general, the management is easy to talk to and can be counted on to advocate for you in the appropriate situation (defending reasonable deadlines, for instance). Although some of the decisions that upper management have made have been difficult, I've always felt those decisions have been intelligent ones. In addition, I've always been appreciative of the generous holiday allotment, including the week and a half off during the winter holidays for all employees.
Cons
The salaries are probably a bit lower than the market value. The benefits used to make up for it when it was still CNET Networks, but since the integration with CBS, the benefits have been reduced to only a satisfactory level.
