Pros

This is a great place to work! Everyone is approachable and team oriented. You can learn a lot at Parsus from the talented team of developers and staffers. It's a growing company and has been in business for over 17 years. They take care of their employees first to ensure the best work environment and long term career potential.

Cons

There are no cons that I can think of.

Pros

I had almost given up looking for a place to do development that didn't burn out their employees with poorly managed workload. The culture at Parsus is very positive and shares my personal values. It is small company that works on big projects using a variety of technologies. Every project I have worked on has been completed different, interesting and challenged my skills as a developer. Plus, we go out for the best Pho every week at lunch :)

Cons

I haven't found one yet.

Pros

* Great learning opportunity * Work and project variety * Schedule flexibility - several employees work remotely and owners prioritize gym/exercise time in the afternoon * Ideal environment for the self-learner and problem solver * Minimal micromanagement and work autonomy * Owners genuinely care and are well-intentioned

Cons

* No upward mobility * Minimal collaborative work opportunities and social interaction - Parsus is a team of very strong individual and often introverted contributors so if you are a social butterfly with a strong need to communicate and collaborate, the work environment may not be ideal for you. * Lack of organizational structure - no detailed process or procedural documentation, no training materials, no formal mechanism for providing or receiving feedback. * No formal training - as a new team member you will be expected to hit the ground running and you'll need to figure it out and get it done asap. * Poor work/life balance - notifications require a prompt response and it is not uncommon to work outside of normal business hours. Regular overtime and constant availability is a work culture expectation.

Parsus Response

We are always disheartened when a team member didn't feel positive with us. We take all comments from present and past team members seriously and hope to learn from their experiences. At Parsus, we have purposely created an environment that forgoes "organization structure" in order to recognize each individual as a team member with unique skill sets. We don't rely on titles. We are a boutique rapid-app dev firm that works with lots of different technologies and clients. This makes being a quick learner / self-starter an essential part of the job. We are always looking for team members who can put on their headphones, put their head down, and bang out solutions to solve clients' problems. These are features we mention during the hiring process and reiterate at on-boarding. We appreciate the feedback received and we wish this previous team member the best of luck in their next endeavor!
