Pros

The variety of projects at Partner in Publishing gives you constant opportunities to build new skills and learn from everyone—from senior leaders to team members and interns—so there is genuine room to grow at every experience level. The flexibility is outstanding, with contract, part-time, and, when available, full-time roles that can adapt to different seasons of your life. During a tough job market, I watched the contract opportunities in particular help many people get through an uncertain time. Leadership truly cares—not just Lisa and Kevin, but the project leads across the company—who genuinely look out for people as individuals. They focus on helping you grow and learn, and when many companies were laying people off, they worked incredibly hard to keep as many team members employed as possible. You never feel like a number here. It's a supportive, caring culture - albeit fast past agency life, that is kind of addicting!

Cons

If you are not a go-getter personality type, a multi-tasker, or someone who is a natural problem solver you may find it difficult to work for an agency - not just PIP. You need to be someone who is proactive, have a voice, and enjoy working with a variety of project types, clients, and team members that have different experience skill levels.

Pros

I was so grateful to Lisa for hiring me soon after graduating college and giving me a change to expand upon my marketing skills. I was able to help out on a variety of teams and gain invaluable experience that not only boosts my resume, but has made me a better employee. Everyone is so friendly and eager to work together, and I was very grateful for that kindness while still getting adjusted to my professional responsibilities. They trusted my skills but also pushed me to learn new ones to become more knowledgeable in different aspects of marketing. I truly felt like everyone was looking out for me and wanted the best for me, even now as I am moving on from PIP I know everyone there has my back and would help me excel in the future if given the chance. That culture was a perfect first opportunity to grow in a professional space!

Cons

Since the company is remote you need to stay on top of your own work, but if you are proactive and organized this should not be a problem.

Pros

Amazing people. Lisa genuinely cares about both the people that work for her as well as the products/image/marketing/solutions they put out. The research team is knowledgeable, ready to help anyone, and fast-paced. The pay is okay, as are the benefits, even if a bit pricey. Could be higher based on my previous experience but leadership is determined to make up for the pay with teaching everything I could possibly need in the industry. There really is no limit here except how much you are willing to learn. Hard work is rewarded. Bonus and raises happen in February. I enjoy the work that I do and it keeps me on my toes. A fantastic place to work for recent graduates wanting to learn as much as they can.

Cons

Not much training provided. Very much a "throw you into the fire and let you learn" project-based situation. This has been a positive thing for me, but may be negative for folks who aren't used to it. You will make a lot of mistakes, but leadership is fine with it as long as you learn from it and don't make the same mistake more than once. The nature of the work changes greatly from week to week. I started off hourly and transitioned to full time; when I was hourly there were some weeks I'd barely hit 20 hours, and others that I'd easily hit 40. Just the nature of the work.
