Poor Management & Pay - Above average service ratings - Volunteer Coordinator Partners In Home Care Employee Review

Pros

I wholeheartedly believe in the value of hospice volunteers and found working with them very rewarding. I likewise enjoyed many of my co-workers and believe that those who are providing direct patient care and bereavement support are hard-working and have their hearts in the right place. Patients and family members report above average satisfaction with the care they receive.

Cons

I experienced a distinct lack of support and an inadequate understanding of the skills and tasks involved in running the volunteer program. The pay scale for this position tells me that upper management shares a lack of understanding of what the position entails. Compared to national average salaries for hospice volunteer coordinators, the pay I received was lower than the national low average. Regarding work environment, PHC recently moved to a smaller building and many employees, including myself, were shifted into small cubicles. While this may work for some people, I require a much quieter environment to do my best work.

Pros

Partners invests in their employees and infrastructure. Great work environment and great work/life balance

Cons

Partners is a mission driven organization which means they focus on patient care and outcomes before profits which may mean some wages may be lower than for profit providers.

Pros

For anyone interested in working at Partners, they truly set themselves apart from all other home health agencies in Montana. I interviewed at a handful of home health agencies (including all of them in Missoula) out of PT school and from their benefits package, wages, and flexibility-Partners was superior in every category. I was a new grad hire when I started at Partners and had an unbelievable amount of support and training to help build my confidence and skills to excel in the home health field. The flexibility that Partners allowed with my work schedule allowed for me to make medical appointments, etc without having to take PTO. I was also able to coach high school basketball in Missoula during my 3 years at Partners, which would be nearly impossible to do at any other healthcare setting. The only reason I recently left was due to relocating to a new town to be closer to family. Partners is simply THE best!

Cons

None. Every day was awesome
