Pros
Some of the people I worked with were great mentors and I learned a lot. You meet a lot of people in the special events industry that could provide a stepping stone for a real career. If you were an hourly employee the overtime can be good during peak season.
Cons
You are lucky if you got a 'good job' from management. There is minimal room for advancement depending on the department you are in. The company has been in a constant state of reorganization the last few years leaving you wondering if you will have a job.
