Pros

Interesting projects, generally good people, offers lots of flexibility, lots of opportunities to learn, quite a bit of opportunity for growth for such a small company

Cons

Some odd ideas about management from the owners, company seems to have lost a lot of talent in recent years

Pros

Independent work environment, minimal direct supervision. Somewhat flexible work hours and only average vacation/flex time allocation.

Cons

Owners are insecure, using outside consultants, multiple ridiculous digital management and HR platforms, and "safe space" meetings to prevent serious and critical discussion of issues facing the company (of less than 20 employees). All profits are squandered trying to develop unneeded IP that the owners could sell, with none of the promised profit sharing seen in more than 5 years. Technical staff (engineers) are compensated less than sales and administrative staff, have no path for professional development or advancement into project management, and technical training is not considered a priority. Non-technical account managers are setup as an impediment between the engineering consultants and the clients to prevent networking and relationship development for the technical staff, and gimmicky sales tactics rather than honest consulting is the preferred approach. Long-service employees are discarded with zero respect or acknowledgement. Nonsensical COVID and vaccination policies are forced on remote workers in order to virtue-signal. Poor medical benefits.

Pros

Flexible work schedule. Friendly co-workers. Work-from-home. Pet-friendly office.

Cons

No systematically training. Self-learning needed. Late meetings sometimes because some people work in Australia.
