Pros

In recent years, Patchwork has started to move away from scrappy start up vibes to maturing into a business that is starting to find its feet and truly challenge a legacy market. If they are able to successfully navigate expansion over the next year or so, I genuinely see the business becoming something special. In regards to working at Patchwork, this is a place that has continued to be one of the most supportive environments both professionally and personally. Leading by example, the CEO encourages a family first work life balance, and flexibility is at the core of the company's values in both how you are treated, as well as the benefits offered. From a professional lens, if you are someone comfortable with ambiguity and not being spoon fed tasks, you will thrive here. The best people at Patchwork have shaped their roles and progression by running with their own initiatives and leaving things in a better place than what they found them. You will find yourself with full autonomy to improve processes, ways of working and feed into strategy, and as long as you can provide reasoning for a suggestion, everyone has a voice. The People team are the heart of the company and unsung heroes here. Nothing is too much for them, and they will go out of their way to ensure everything runs smoothly, and you feel part of the team. Often flying under the radar, they deserve so much recognition but never expect it.

Cons

The company is experiencing growing pains, whilst it steadies the ship into scale up mode, this is something that you would fully expect however from the stage the business is at. If you are looking for textbook, gold standard ways of working, or perfect clarity then this isn't the place for you. There is a lot of pivots, context switching and last minute demands from clients, but this is the nature of B2B start up. Anyone who has been in a similar environment previously will know this and be familiar with the challenges (as well as the opportunities). From the ground, there has been a lot of noise, restructuring and changes in how we work across teams over the last 6 months. If you apply a little critical thinking to most of this, you can see it is what is best for business...that being said, it can feel exhausting.

Pros

Support team and manager are very friendly and supportive.

Cons

Customers and employees are not a priority for the company, only profit. Senior management have massive egos and love to show you smart they are rather than actually listening to staff and considering feedback provided. They have no interest in what staff have to say. Work given was always way above capacity, which meant always working over just to stay afloat with expectations.
